Last month, Sam Randazzo, Chair of the Public Utility Commission of Ohio, abruptly resigned after the FBI raided his home. It was reported that Randazzo had taken $4 million in secret payments from FirstEnergy, the corrupt energy company at the center of the largest bribery scandal in Ohio history.
Since then, we learned that Gov. Mike DeWine was warned about Randazzo’s compromising connections in early 2019, but still appointed him. We need a fresh start. No more corruption and special deals.
The Public Utility Commission of Ohio, or PUCO, regulates gas and electric companies in Ohio. It’s time we had a PUCO chair who looked out for consumers, not the companies they regulate.
Call Gov. DeWine TODAY and tell him:
No more corruption. We need a PUCO chair who looks out for consumers, not Big Energy Companies. We need a fresh start: he must appoint a chair who has NO connections to FirstEnergy or any other utility company.
