Ohio Polling Shows Biden Leading Trump, Generic State Legislative Ballot Tied

New polling from TargetSmart, a leading national progressive polling and data firm, shows Joe Biden leading Donald Trump in Ohio, with highly competitive races down ballot.
“It is once again clear that Ohio will be a highly competitive state this fall, especially as Ohioans learn more about the massive corruption scandal perpetrated by Speaker Larry Householder and his Republican allies,” said ProgressOhio Managing Director Michael McGovern. “Ohioans overwhelmingly believe that, under Republican leadership, we are headed in the wrong direction and they are ready for change this November.”
The poll of 946 Ohioans July 28 to August 3 finds Biden leading Trump 47%-46%. Biden’s lead is especially strong with college educated women and suburban women.
The generic state legislature ballot is tied at 45%. Perhaps most importantly, 72% of respondents believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. The margin of error is +/- 3.6%. Crosstabs also are available here.
