Democratic Voices of Ohio (DVO) is seeking a paid Intern able to commit 6-10 hrs/week to assist with the creation and amplification of blog and social media content as part of our 8-week initiative (March 8 – May 8) to register and mobilize Ohio voters for the Primary Election. This is a temporary, paid position. We are offering $10-15/hr (based on level of experience), schedule flexibility, and substantive work experience in the rapidly growing field of social media.
WHO WE ARE
Democratic Voices of Ohio is a 501(c)4 that exists to amplify Ohio voters’ digital engagement with progressive causes through our own messaging and by providing nonprofits with digital media content, production and consultation services. We build online communities around issues important to the future of our state, including redistricting reform, health care, public education, labor, reproductive rights, racial justice, taxes, voting rights, and upcoming elections.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
The ideal candidate should work well on teams and demonstrate strong writing skills, a good understanding of digital strategy, a working knowledge of social media and Ohio politics, and an ability to meet stringent deadlines. Applicants should be detail-oriented, a creative self-starter who is proactive about bringing ideas to the table, and passionate about progressive issues. Students and recent college graduates with backgrounds in political science, public affairs, communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or other related fields
are encouraged to apply. Previous work, internship, or volunteer experience is preferred.
