Advocacy Groups Hold Community Meeting to discuss Medicare and Social Security and celebrate Medicare’s upcoming 49th Birthday.
Rep. Marcy Kaptur’s Office to present at event with seniors discussing the programs and pertinent legislative updates.
(TOLEDO-OH)- The National Committee to Protect Medicare and Social Security(NCPMSS), and ProgressOhio will hold a community discussion for seniors regarding the two programs and other issues effecting seniors. The panel discussion will feature Rep. Marcy Kaptur’s Office to discuss current legislation in Congress, a Senior Advocate from the National Committee with Medicare and Social Security program updates, and ProgressOhio to discuss the proposed Family Act legislation that would be run through the Social Security Department and allow paid leave for employees to care for their young or senior family members.
Following the discussion, there will be a celebration with cake for Medicare’s 49th upcoming birthday on July 30th.
