The OEC family of organizations seeks a Digital Organizer who is a creative and innovative thinker able to execute engaging, strategic digital campaigns across multiple platforms. The digital organizer will also support messaging, communications, and publications development for programs and fundraising in order to raise the profile of the organization, and to build a movement of environmental supporters across the state.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the Organizer’s primary role will be to plan and execute digital campaigns to support the OEC family of organizations’ advocacy, accountability, and fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include:
- Managing social media accounts for the OEC family of organizations
- Managing paid digital ads
- Creating written and visual content for print and digital platforms (website, action alerts, email marketing)
- Monitoring online trends and conversations and engaging digital activists
- Creating opportunities for new activists to engage the OEC family of organizations and then developing ongoing opportunities for meaningful action on environmental protection
- Developing a strong, active network of social influencers
The ideal candidate is has a depth of knowledge about digital platforms and emerging trends in online organizing. This individual must be a strong executer, able to make ideas and theories a reality. The Organizer is a support role and must be responsive and attentive, work quickly and efficiently, and follow instructions carefully while thinking about new ways to do the work better.
The Organizer must be positive, able to efficiently manage many different projects at once while delivering quality results, adept at prioritization and project planning, and able to distill complex topics into understandable messages for the public.
The Organizer should produce on-brand content, pay close attention to detail in design and writing, and keep a helpful, positive attitude. The individual should be flexible and eager to learn new skills and software.
The applicant must have an interest in environmental issues and Ohio politics, demonstrated experience in managing social media accounts, graphic design, writing, communications and/or public relations (professional, volunteer, and academic experience all apply).
Knowledge of environmental issues, politics, and experience with nonprofit advocacy organizations, is highly desirable.
